The Buccaneers went with Joe Tryon in the first round, and will look to follow that up with more picks that look towards 2022. The Bucs only have a one year contract with Suh, so getting his replacement would be prudent. Tampa has good depth at receiver and can get by with what they have, and could possibly still resign Antonio Brown. Even with that being said, they likely would not be able to retain both Brown and Godwin, and with Godwin being the younger option, would most likely stick with him, meaning finding a Brown replacement is a possibility. Jordan Whitehead is a quality safety, but with his and many other contracts coming up, it seems likely that someone has to go, so if they can find a quality replacement a year early it would make the decision earlier. It would also offer injury insurance at the position. They have a gluttony of lower-end running backs on the roster, and it is one of the few positions where an actual upgrade is possible. Anything they do for this draft will most likely be to extend the current winning window, which means they will look for contributors for 2022 so they can maintain their key players and still fit in under the salary cap. All in all, the defending Super Bowl Champions are in a great position.

Analysis

The Bucs don’t have an immediate need here, but could use a future Suh replacement. Onwuzurike and Barmore could very well not be there, but they would be great selections should either one of them fall to 64. Milton Williams played as a 4i in college, but has the tools to be a penetrating 3-Tech. Odighizuwa has inside-out versatility, and is probably best to play as a 4i. If Onwuzurike or Barmore are available, they are easy choices, but if not, Milton Williams would be a great fit. He would be my pick even at 64, but I believe he could be there come round three.

Analysis

The Bucs need a long term answer at Z. They currently have Scotty Miller and Tyler Johnson, and may be resigning Antonio Brown for this upcoming season, so it is not a huge need that needs to be immediately addressed, but if value presents itself they could jump on it. Amon-Ra St. Brown offers the versatility to play at the Z as well as in the slot, even though most of his reps came from the slot in college. St. Brown is a well rounded player who would excel for Tampa. Dyami Brown can align outside and act as a vertical threat. He is also a good blocker. Tylan Wallace is best in 50/50 situations, although his body type and athleticism do not match with the skill set. Nico Collins is still a little raw, but would offer good athleticism and continue to add size to the outside opposite Mike Evans.

Analysis

The Buccaneers could use a backup safety, and also will be looking for a long term Jordan Whitehead replacement. While Whitehead has been good, they will need to be selective in what contracts they give out. Holland offers a lot of versatility, and would be a great fit. Grant is a player that you can play in a lot of spots as well. Both are fantastic fits for the Bucs. Jamar Johnson lacks single-high ability, but can fill any other role you ask of him fairly well. Wiggins is another player who can fill a lot of roles for a defense. All four of these players are some of my favorite players in the entire draft, and offer good value on day two, which is something a team that will be looking to find ways to cut costs would be looking for.

Analysis

The Buccaneers lack any true needs, but I still find it doubtful they take a running back early given their investment into the position, with multiple free agent signings and a previous third round pick spent. They could still use an upgrade, and if they decide to there are some decent options. I doubt Javonte Williams will fall to them, but it is a possibility and he would be worth a trade up, as the other two running backs who were in his tier have already went in the first round. Kenneth Gainwell is viewed by many as the fourth best running back in this class. He is a good pass catcher and would add an interesting dynamic to the Bucs. Trey Sermon is a powerful runner who might not give them a new dynamic, but could be a bit better than what they currently have. Michael Carter will be best in a committee, but can be very productive in the NFL.
