B.T. Meyers’ Official Mock Draft 1.0

Draft season is and has been here in full swing. In less than a month the big day will be here and all our hard work in the NFL Draft community will finally fan out. See who goes where. Will your favorite players go to your favorite team? Will player X fit that NFL team’s schemes? These are all questions we’ll find out soon but thanks to some folks in the community we’re able to play GM/Coaches to draft players.

As you’ve seen the other contributors of Draft Rite do, in late fashion, here is my first official mock draft. I did a mix of team needs along with Best Player Available in this. Hope everyone enjoys it and let us know what you think.

  • 1.) Jacksonville Jaguars – Trevor Lawrence
    • You should know the reason behind this by now.
  • 2.) New York Jets – Justin Fields
    • There’s been some speculations around whether the Jets should look for a new QB or not. Initially I was gonna go against it but knowing how Darnold has played the past few seasons in NYJ fashion, and with Joe Douglas and new HC Robert Saleh running things it’s time to move forward with a new era in a mobile yet one hell of an arm talent under center.
  • 3.) San Francisco 49ers – Zach Wilson
    • If you haven’t seen my Top 10 QB List you should’ve seen that Wilson & Fields were tied for the FSC number 2 spot. In this case, if SF decides to go QB then Wilson is their guy to develop behind Jimmy G.
  • 4.) Atlanta Falcons – Trey Lance
    • Matt Ryan is starting to get older, gone through many scheme changes, and taken plenty of hits by opposing defenses. His time with either the Falcons or in the league is about up. While they still have him it’d be a good thing to take Lance as a blank slate & develop him into the QB of the future they want him to be.
  • 5.) Cincinnati Bengals – Penei Sewell
    • The AFC North is usually won in the trenches in one way or another. Cincinnati for the past 3 or 4 years have been in a rut with their offensive line. Drafting Joe Burrow was great for the organization & team last year but he needs quality personnel in front of him. Bobby Hart was atrocious, they got help in FA, but add more help. Penei Sewell would fit perfectly with their blocking schemes.
  • 6.) Miami Dolphins – Devonta Smith
    • It’s an Alabama reunion with Smith & Tua. Smith is my WR1 in this draft class. He’ll excel with the system but chemistry with his old QB will only help the offense in south beach.
  • 7.) Detroit Lions – Ja’Marr Chase
    • The Lions obviously need help in many departments but filling the shoes of those that left in FA on top of living up to what Megatron did with the team is what’s needed. Before the deletion of content, Mr. Chase was a feature in the Draft Rite Analytical Case Files that argued him to be a possibly WR1 or close WR2. He’ll be what Detroit needs.
  • 8.) Carolina Panthers – Mac Jones
    • Even though Carolina had Teddy Bridgewater under contract for the next 2 seasons doesn’t mean HC Matt Rhule can’t plan for the future. Mac Jones had a monster of a season with the Crimson Tide. Having a stacked team just made his stats better than what they could’ve. With proper coaching, scheme, & weapons around him there’s no reason why Jones can’t be the Franchise QB of this teams future.
  • 9.) Denver Broncos – Micah Parsons
    • Arguably one of the best LB’s in this draft class. Denver obviously needs to rebuild their offensive line but this class is deep with top tier OL. Round One you wanna get a new young leader of the defense. Parson’s is just that. Denver at one point was one of the best defensive units in the league and they need to get back to it, with this pick.
  • 10.) Dallas Cowboys – Patrick Surtain II
    • Boy, oh, boy where do I begin. Just laugh for a second. Anyways, the Cowboys have always seemed to have a secondary issue and you may be asking how to they fix it. Well here is an answer for you, Patrick Surtain II. A versatile player who will lock down wideouts in front of him.

Break time! Grab a glass of coffee, water, beer, etc. Still got 22 picks to go!

  • 11.) New York Football Giants – Kyle Pitts
    • Over this past season I’ve heard some complaints about the inconsistency from Giant’s about the TE room. Well by what’s been seen on the field of young talent that can rise to the occasion, Mr. Kyle Pitts is here to answer your prayers to the football gods. Some call this guy WR1 against the position types. Will he prove to be it? According to this mock, yes.
  • 12.) Philadelphia Eagles – Jaylen Waddle
    • Another Crimson Tide reunion between this guy & Mr. Hurts. The Eagles have gone through an interesting offseason so far to say the least, along with an arguable messed up post season. Times are changing in Philly but that won’t stop the team from getting weapons for QB1 Hurts/Flacco in clutch receiver Waddle. He may have had a controversial National Championship game but that won’t hurt his draft stock much.
  • 13.) LA Chargers – Rashawn Slater
    • The Chargers are definitely in need in some firepower on both sides of the ball but like I’ve said with an earlier pick, games are won in the trenches. Slater is a much needed power house to keep Herbert safe but also to power through anyone that gets in his way.
  • 14.) Minnesota Vikings – Alijah Vera-Tucker
    • AVT is arguably one of the best guards in the Draft. MN needs some youth there along with technical power houses who can get the job done, with this guy, they’ll have it.
  • 15.) NE Patriots – Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah
    • New England has made a splash in FA but still needs some additional key positions filled. This season may or may not be the year they find their next franchise QB but in this mock it’s where they find a possible franchise LB. JOK has been a play maker on the defensive side of the ball either way you look at it and will only help a once dominate Pats defense get back to where they were.
  • 16.) Arizona Cardinals – Jaycee Horn
    • AZ has also made progress forward not only in the W/L columns but also with player development. Coach Kliff is putting together something special in AZ but with the help of Jaycee Horn, his defense will only get better.
  • 17.) Las Vegas Raiders – Christian Darrisaw
    • Darrisaw is a top rated Tackle all across the draft community. Exciting player to watch. Would be a great fit in Vegas.
  • 18.) Miami Dolphins – Jaelan Phillips
    • With their first pick they hit it on the head with offense, now it’s time to hit the defensive side. Phillips has been a monster of a player and will take down whom ever he can get his hands on. His skill set will fit in great.
  • 19.) Washington Football Team – Alex Leatherwood
    • And yes, you seen that correctly. Leatherwood is currently lower than what I had originally projected in this mock. Leatherwood would fit perfectly in this system. It’s a power house scheme that they have going on which our guy here wouldn’t have any issue in.
  • 20.) Chicago Bears – Liam Eichenberg
    • Eichenberg is another OL that’s in my top 10 list for the trenches. Chicago has many positions to fill and questions to answer but bolstering that front line is definitely a starting point.

Ok guys, thank you for still sticking around. We’re over half way there and the fun is still going but for time sakes we’re gonna fly through the last few picks.

  • 21.) Indianapolis Colts – Teven Jenkins
  • 22.) Tennessee Titans – Rashod Bateman
  • 23.) New York Jets – Caleb Farley
  • 24.) Pittsburgh Steelers – Greg Newsome II
  • 25.) Jacksonville Jaguars – Dillon Radunz
  • 26.) Cleveland Browns – Azeez Ojulari
  • 27.) The Baltimore Ravens – Eric Stokes
  • 28.) NOLA Saints – Aaron Robinson
  • 29.) Green Bay Packers – Samuel Cosmi
  • 30.) Buffalo Bills – Kwity Paye
  • 31.) KC Chiefs – Nick Bolton
  • 32.) Tampa Bay Buccaneers – Christian Barmore.

And there you have it folks! I hope you enjoyed it. Like, comment, follow every last one of us on social media, and don’t forget to subscribe to our news letters. Have a great day!
